A 31-second video clip from Ram Gopal Varma’s Officer has been launched by the makers, and it promises us a deadly Nagarjuna, who plays a ruthless officer and is on a mission to save a kidnapped girl. The music is adding punch and power. The makers are confident that their upcoming venture will rock the box office and repeat the magic of their maiden venture Shiva.
The cop thriller drama ‘Officer’ is bringing Ram Gopal Varma and Akkineni Nagarjuna back together after a gap of nearly 25 years.. The movie is scheduled to hit the theaters on 1st June. Yesterday RGV also said that he was planning to start a film School ‘RGV UNSCHOOL’. He wrote on the wall of Twitter, “Along with New York based Dr.Ram Swaroop and Dr Swetha Reddy,I am starting a Film School called RGV UNSCHOOL ..Details will be given at a press meet tomorrow.”
During the media interaction, the controversial film maker Ram Gopal Varma said: “In Nizam region, Officer producers will release the movie on their own, Kamakshi Movies will distribute the movie in Krishna district whereas Sri Subramaneswara Cine Creations will release through Prince Films in the rest of Andhra Pradesh.”
The pre-release event for the film will take place on 28th May . Ram Gopal Varma tweeted, “We are having a pre release event of #Officer on 28th May 7 pm at N convention ..I invite all @iamnagarjuna ‘s fans to please come and take part in this celebration. Film is releasing June 1st.” Sukumar is going to grace the pre release event of Officer as Chief guest.
The story of Officer is inspired by an IPS officer, KM Prasanna, from Karnataka who was appointed as the chief of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to look into a reputed cop in Mumbai. It is produced by Ram Gopal Varma and Sudheer Chandra under A Company Production and the music is scored by Ravi Shankar. Myra Sareen is playing the female lead.
