Arnab Roy, a short film maker has been arrested by Baguiati police on Friday night for allegedly attempting to lure a woman into sexual relationship with him by promising her roles in his movies.
A woman has alleged that a Kolkata based small time short film maker named Arnab Roy stalked her for three years and sought sexual flavour after offering her roles in a movie. Baguiati Police have arrested the accused on Friday night. According to victim, Arnab Roy also threatened to murder her when she refused his repeated proposals for sexual intercourse.

Senior Investigation officer said, “Recently a complaint was filed by the victim and she said that she came close to Arnab Roy in 2015 because his son was also studying in the same school of Baguiati in northern Kolkata where her daughter was studying. Arnab Roy promised her to give roles in movies if she agreed to have sexual intercourse. After the sexual harassment, she changed her cell phone number but the accused Arnab Roy started calling up the hospital on its landline number to get in touch with her.”
The Police officer further said, “The case of molestation and threat under the relevant sections of the IPC against the accused Arnab Roy and we arrested him on Friday night from his residence at Arjunpur, we have also found evidences against him.”
The victim said, “Arnab Roy used to say to her hospital staff that he has given money to her and now he wants to get his money back so he made call here in hospital.” She added, “Arnab Roy also threatened my mother-in-law on 27th March on this year and spewed venom against me. Later I lodged complaints at the Baguiati and Topsia police stations.”
