Kaala Closing CollectionsKaala, the gangster drama starring Kollywood superstar Rajinikanth, directed by Pa Ranjith, was released on 7th June 2018 Worldwide in a very grand manner in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi but on its opening day, Kaala received mixed responses by the movie lovers and critics. Finally the movie has completed its run and according to the traders report, Kaala has collected Rs 7.25 Cr shares from both Telugu states- Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The area-wise break up of Kaala are:

Nizam :Rs 2.88 Cr

Ceded :Rs 1.25 Cr

UA :Rs 0.66 Cr

Guntur :Rs 0.76 Cr

Krishna :Rs 0.51 Cr

East :Rs 0.51 Cr

West :Rs 0.40 Cr

Nellore :Rs 0.28 Cr

Total AP/ TS Share : Rs 7.25 Cr

 Kaala is all about the story of Mumbai slum and a tussle of residents with the land mafia. Apart from Rajinikanth, the movie has other stars like Nana Patekar, Huma Qureshi, Samuthirakani, Anjali Patil, Eshwari Devi and others in supporting role.  Kaala is produced by Dhanush under the banner of Wunderbar Films and it has music by Santhosh Narayanan.

 On the otherside Salman Khan starrer Race 3 has entered the Rs 100 crore club in its first weekend and became the second highest opening weekend grosser of the year after Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. But Race 3 became fail to beat Kaala at Chennai box office. The trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai tweeted, “Top 5 at Chennai Box-Office (June 15-17) No. 5 #IrumbuThirai, No.4 #JurassicWorldFallenKingdom, No.3 #GoliSoda2, No.2 #Race3, No.1 #Kaala.” Finally once again Rajinikanth has proved that he is the Thalaivar of the box office when it comes to Chennai.

 Rajinikanth will be next seen in Shankar’s directorial venture 2.0 in which Akshay Kumar is playing antagonist. It is being made on the budget of Rs 400 Cr. British Bombshell Amy Jackson is also the part of this multilingual film.
