Rashmika Mandanna is in trouble! Her upcoming Kannada film, Pogaru, has landed in a huge controversy. The recently released hit song ‘Karabuu’ from Pogaru audio album has been receiving immense criticism on social media sites.
Recently on the occasion of Sri Ram Navami, the makers of Pogaru released the first song from the film and the rowdy track called Karabuu featuring the leads, Dhruva Sarja and Rashmika Mandanna has already garnered a massive 7 million plus views in 6 days on Youtube.
The song showcase the actor Dhruva Sarja stalking Rashmika Mandanna and trying to convince her to love him in several outrageous ways. This has not gone down well with feminists and women’s rights activists, and they are demanding that the song be taken down from YouTube immediately and also removed from Pogaru, which is helmed by Nanda Kishore and produced by BK Gangadhar. Chandan Shetty has composed the controversial song Karabuu.
Netizens are slamming the makers for promoting archaic stereotypes of toxic masculinity and romance whilst glorifying violence against women as romance. One of the netizen said, “Worst song. Kept wondering how the actress even considered signing this movie opposite this guy. Disgusted! Looks like, it all comes down to money!”
