Vidya Balan is playing the role of Shakuntala Devi in upcoming movie. Today the makers of Shakuntala Devi unveiled the trailer, which is going viral on social media.
The upcoming film is the biopic of India’s Super Woman Shakuntala Devi, a mathematics genius, who went onto enter into World’s Guinness Book of Records in the year 1982. Shakuntala Devi’ talent in mental calculation earned the nickname of ‘human computer’ for her dazzling skill with numbers.
In the three minute video, Vidya Balan as Shakuntala Devi is seen solving difficult problems with an ease. From going to London to pursue her ambition to finally marrying the man of her dreams, everything looks like a cakewalk for Shakuntala Devi until she becomes a mother.
Sanya Malhotra is essaying the role of Shakuntala Devi’ daughter in the biopic. The trailer throws light on Shakuntala Devi’ personal life as she struggles to juggle between math and bringing up her daughter. The bittersweet relationship of the mother-daughter duo hints at the tonnes of drama that the biopic promises.
Shakuntala Devi is all about the story of the mathematics genius who was known to be witty and eccentric. She is survived by her daughter, Anupama Banerjee.
Helmed by Anu Menon of Four More Shots Please fame and bankrolled by Sony Pictures Networks Productions and Vikram Malhotra, the film will release on Amazon Prime Video on 31st July.
