King Nagarjuna starrer action drama Siva, helmed by Ram Gopal Varma aka RGV has completed 31 years as the movie was released on 5th October 1989. Siva marks RGV’ directorial debut in Tollywood and it was produced by Akkineni Venkat and Yarlagadda Surendra under their banners of Annapurna Studios and SS Creations. Today Ram Gopal Varma took to Twitter to share a throwback photo with Nagarjuna from the sets of Siva.
Apart from Nagarjuna, the film Siva also had Amala, JD Chakravarthy, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Gollapudi Maruthi Rao, Tanikella Bharani, Subhalekha Sudhakar, Brahmaji and others in the key roles. The film Siva was a game-changer when it was released. The action drama had music by Ilaiyaraaja whereas the cinematography was handled by S Gopala Reddy.
Siva is all about the story of a guy Shiva (Nagarjuna), who is a fresher at VAC College. He takes on the students’ union president and a group of gangsters who have made the college environment violent.
Once again Nagarjuna and Ram Gopal Varma joined hands for another film titled Officer, which was released in 2018 but it ended up a dud at the box office.
Meanwhile Nagarjuna is working with Dia Mirza in the investigative thriller movie Wild Dog.
