India’s first World Cup-winning cricket captain Kapil Dev suffered heart attack. He underwent an angioplasty on Friday after complaining of chest pain and the cricketer is expected to be discharged in the next couple of days. Kapil Dev felt uneasy on Thursday following which he was taken to Fortis Hospital in New Delhi.
Kapil Dev still still regarded as one of the finest all-rounder. Kapil Dev has played 131 Tests and 225 ODIs, inspired India to an unforgettable World Cup victory in the year 1983 where they defeated the mighty West Indies in the final at the Lord’s.
According to the latest report, currently Kapil Dev is admitted in ICU and under the close supervision of Dr Atul Mathur and his team. The doctors said that Kapil Dev is stable now and he is expected to get discharged in few days.
Apparently, he is in a stable condition after undergoing angioplasty.
Kapil Dev has achieved plenty of accolades for our country India in his stellar playing career from 1978 to 1994. He once held the best figures for an Indian bowler when he took 9/83 against the West Indies in Ahmedabad in the year 1983. Kapil Dev is one of the few elite players to have scored 5000 runs and taken over 400 wickets.
