Considered as the best psychological thriller in Tamil film Industry, ‘Ratsasan’ received overwhelming reviews from both critics and viewers. Made on a shoe string budget, the Vishnu Vishal and Amala Paul starrer went on to gross over Rs 20 Cr at the global box office.
Later the movie Ratsasan was remade in Tollywood and it was titled Rakshasudu in which Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas played the lead roles and it was hit at the box office. Rakshasudu was bankrolled by Havish under his banner and he was also in the plan to make it in Hindi. Akshay Kumar was on the board in the Hindi remake of Rakshasudu but due to the coronavirus pandemic the makers dropped the idea.
Now according to the latest report, Havish has sold the remake rights of the film to Padman fame Akshay Kumar and now the actor is all set to play the lead role. Apart from acting, Akshay Kumar will also bankroll the remake.
Rakshasudu remake is expected to go on the floor by the end of this month and a popular Hindi director is on the board to helm the remake. Akshay is also planning to bring another popular actor on the board to play the role of antagonist.
