Gunasekhar’ magnum opus Shaakuntalam is one of the much hyped movies of Tollywood in which Samantha Akkineni is playing the titular role. Malayalam actor Dev Mohan is playing king Dushyant, the king of Puru Dynasty. According to the latest report, the much-awaited pan-India drama Shaakuntalam, wrapped up the entire shooting formalities yesterday. The final schedule concluded in Hyderabad. Gunasekhar canned few crucial talkie scenes and a battle episode with Dev Mohan.
We have already reported that Samantha has wrapped up shooting for her part in Shaakuntalam in the second week of August. The big budget mythological drama is bankrolled by Gunasekhar’s daughter Neelima Guna and Dil Raju whereas the music is scored by Mani Sharma.
Shaakuntalam narrates the mythological tale of Shakuntala and King Dushyanta. It is based on Kalidasa’s Sanskrit play Abhijnana Shakuntalam.
Gunasekhar’ magnum opus Shaakuntalam also has Aditi Balan and Mohan Babu in supporting roles. Allu Arjun’s daughter Arha will mark her debut with this film in Telugu as the child artist and she is essaying the role of Prince Bharata.
Earlier this year, Samantha Akkineni made her debut as a television show host with a celebrity chat show called Sam Jam. Last year she also hosted a few episodes of Telugu Bigg Boss when Nagarjuna was unavailable due to his shooting schedules.
