
25th September marks the first death anniversary of legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam, who breathed his last in 2020 at a private hospital in Chennai after a long battle with Coronavirus. Last year in the month of August 2020, SP Balasubrahmanyam was diagnosed with Covid-19 and he was hospitalised.
He took to Facebook to share a video message from the hospital and revealed that he would be back soon. However, his condition deteriorated and he was put on ventilator. Though the singer tested negative for the coronavirus, but it took a toll on his lungs and later he died of lung failure. SP Balasubrahmanyam was cremated with full state honors.
On the occasion of SP Balasubrahmanyam’ death anniversary, the music composer D Imman remembered the legendary singer and shared a post on Twitter, “Remembering the Legendary SPB sir on his first death anniversary. Your music will stay for long sir Indeed a blessing to co exist and have worked with you. Can not wait to share our song with the world soon.”
The playback singer MG Sreekumar said, “Remembering Legendary Singer SP Balasubrahmanyam on his death anniversary, whose magical and deep rich voice gave life to thousands of songs that mesmerized millions of music lovers transcending borders and languages!!.
