Naga Shaurya who was last seen in Kanam/ Diya, has come up with an romantic and family entertainer movie Amammagarillu, which has hit the theaters today. Let’s see the storyline.

Story: 20 years ago the family  of Ravi Babu (Rao  Ramesh) and his brother in law (Suman) splits. Santosh (Naga Shaurya), the son of Suman who loves his Amamma Seetha Maha Lakshmi (Sumithra) very much, makes it his personal mission to bring the family closer in 20 days.  Same time, Seetha Maha Lakshmi decides to  distribute the property and invites all the family members to her village.  What happens next? How will Santosh become successful in his mission? To get these answers watch the movie on silver screen.

 Plus points:

  • Naga Shaurya
  • Shamili

Minus Points:

  • Predictable Storyline

Performance:  Naga Shaurya has impressed with ease at acting.  He is more active in this character compared to his earlier films. He is pretty good in emotional episodes towards end of the film.  Shamili is pretty natural with her work.  Rao Ramesh’s performance as a frustrated son and a rude contractor are highlighted. Posani gets a small role but he justifies with his character.  Rest of the cast performed accordingly.

Technical: The story of Ammammagarillu  is simple and predictable. Despite a predictable storyline, director Sundar Surya has made sure that the screenplay is engaging. There is freshness in the film.  There are only 2 songs in the film. The background score is good. Cinematography work by Rasool Ellore  is ok.  The editing  by  J.P is good.

Analysis: Overall Ammammagarillu  is a decent family entertainer movie and has sufficient ingredients to make it work at box office!  The director Sundar Surya came with a message oriented movie  to impress the audience but number of emotional scenes test the patience of the audience.
