2 Hyderabadis arrested in links with ISIS2 Hyderabadis men were arrested in links with ISIS by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Sunday. According to the latest report,  Mohammed Abdullah Basith (24), a resident of Hafeezbaba Nagar and Mohammed Abdul Qhadeer (19), a resident of Chandrayangutta were arrested after National Investigation Agency (NIA) received inputs of Basith’s association with ISIS operative Adnan Hassan. They were arrested for conspiring to carry out terror activities in India on the instructions of ISIS.

The two accused have been in touch with Adnan Hassan. Adnan Hassan, along with two men named Sheikh Azhar ul Islam and Mohammed Farhan Shaikh, were arrested in 2016 in ISIS module case for recruiting and training Indian Muslim youths to carry out terror activities across the country for ISIS.

The two accused who were arrested by the NIA confessed their crimes. Later, the court sentenced them 7 years of imprisonment. Reports add that the trial against the third accused, Adnan Hassan, is still underway.

According to the press release by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), the officials said that they conducted a probe and found that Mohammed Abdullah Basith was continuously in connection with Adnan Hassan. It was also found that they were conspiring with the ISIS to carry out terror activities by radicalising the Muslim youth.

The official said that a lot of incriminating material was recovered and seized, and it has been sent to CFSL Hyderabad for analysis and data extraction.  Mohammed Abdullah Basith was previously arrested by Telangana Police in 2016 when he and few others were planning to flee India and go to Afghanistan to join ISIS. It was Adnan Hassan, who was giving financial support to Mohammed Abdullah Basith to travel to Syria in 2014.

Mohammed Abdullah Basith and Mohammed Abdul Qhadeer had been under NIA scanner for some time.
