Keerthy Suresh won million of hearts with her wonderful performances in her recently released movie Mahanati, the biopic of legendary actress Savitri, directed by Nag Ashwin. Mahanati was screened at Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) this year. The film unit of Mahanati including Nag Ashwin, producer Priyanka Dutt and Keerthy Suresh attended the event.
The trader Analyst Taran Adarsh shared a pic of Mahanati team on his twitter and captioned it, “An absolute honour to share the frame with the glorious team of #Mahanati in Australia, at the #IFFM after party… The film won a prestigious award at #IFFM2018 this evening.”
The makers of Mahanati also wrote on Twitter, “#Mahanati Gets Rare Respect in Melbourne Film Festival Kudos To The Whole Team !! Its A Huge One @KeerthyOfficial @nagashwin7 @Samanthaprabhu2 @dulQuer @VyjayanthiFilms”
Keerthy Suresh played the role of Savitri in Mahanti whereas Dulquer Salmaan essayed her husband. Apart from Keerthy Suresh and Dulquer Salmaan, Mahanati has other stars like Samantha Akkineni, Vijay Deverakonda, Rajendra Prasad, Bhanu Priya, Tanikella Bharani, Krish, Naga Babu, Prakash Raj and others.
The IFFM Awards was funded by State Government of Victoria in 2012 and they are aimed to strengthen ties between Indian film industry and Victoria.
Bollywood stars Manoj Bajpayee, Rani Mukerji and Sanju were winners at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2018. Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju won the Best Film honour the Westpac IFFM Awards night whereas Manoj Bajpayee won the Best Actor for his yet-to-release movie Gali Guleiyan. Rani Mukerji was named Best Actress for her performance in Hichki.
IFFM 2018 started on Friday, as part of the celebrations, On Saturday, Rani Mukerji hoisted the Indian flag at the Federation House, which also became a stage for a dance competition, bringing the huge and diverse Indian community of Melbourne together – denoting the unifying power of cinema.
