Singer Sona Mohapatra is visibly irked with Ram Gopal Verma aka RGV with his latest tweet after he suggested that women buying liquor should not complain about domestic violence.
Ram Gopal Varma is not only popular for his controversial comments on celebrities but also popular for delivering hit movies like Satya and Sarkar. It is known news that in the 3rd phase of the lockdown starting 4th May, sale of liquor and tobacco is to be allowed after ensuring minimum six feet social distancing. Many celebrities and political personalities have criticized the government’s decision to reopen the liquor and tobacco shops, citing the already rising cases of domestic violence in the country.
Yesterday, Ram Gopal Varma took to his twitter to share a pic of of women lining up for alcohol in queues and wrote, “Look who’s in line at the wine shops. So much for protecting the women against drunk the men.” Ram Gopal Varma (RGV)’ tweet did not go well with Sona Mohapatra and she replied, “Mr RGV, time for you to get into the line of people who desperately need a real education. Women have a right to buy and consume alcohol just like men. No one has the right to be drunk and violent.”
Dear Mr RGV,time for u to get into the line of people who desperately need a real education.1 that lets u understand why this tweet of yours reeks of sexism & misplaced morality.Women have a right to buy & consume alcohol just like men. No one has a right to be drunk & violent. https://t.co/5AUcTrAJrZ
