Jisshu Sengupta, the Bengali actor, has been roped in NTR biopic to play the role of late filmmaker and Dadasaheb Phalke awardee LV Prasad.
According to the latest update popular Bengali star Jisshu Sengupta has been roped in NTR, the biopic of legendary actor and late Chief Minister of United Andhra Pradesh, to play legendary filmmaker LV Prasad’s role. It was LV Prasad who introduced Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) to Telugu Cinema with Mana Desam, which was released in 1949. NTR is going to be helmed by Krish.
Jisshu Sengupta and Krish have already worked together for Manikarnika, the movie based on Rani Lakshmi Bai in which Kangana Ranaut is playing the female lead. Jisshu Sengupta is playing Gangadhar Rao, the husband of Lakshmibai’s in Manikarnika. NTR marks the Telugu debut of Jisshu Sengupta.
Nandamuri Balakrishna is playing the role of his father NTR and Bollywood actress Vidya Balan will be seen playing the role of NTR’s wife, Basavatarakam, who he had married at the age of 20. Baahubali and Ghazi fame Rana Daggubati is on board to play Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. The film will be jointly produced by Balakrishna, Sai Korrapati and Vishnu Induri. NTR will have music by MM Keeravani. Santhosh Thundiyil will handle the cinematography. Sumanth, the nephew of Akkineni Nagarjuna will play the role of ANR. It has also come out that Mahesh Babu will play Superstar Krishna. Mohan Babu Manchu is also expected to be a part of this project.
Jisshu Sengupta made his debut in showbiz through a Bengali tv series, Mahaprabhu where he essayed the role of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. The role overnight catapulted him to stardom. His popular Bengali movies are Hemanta, Byomkesh Bakshi, Arshinagar etc. Jisshu Sengupta was also seen in Bollywood movie Piku in which Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan played the lead roles.
